F.A.Q's
Are you affiliated with an agency?
No, I am not. I choose to be an independent daycare provider therefore I am unable to provide subsidies but I do provide you with a receipt. I chose to be independent because I like to set my own hours, policies, rates and programs which are on par with agency/licenced daycare/day homes.
Do you provide transportation?
Unfortunately, at this time I only transport my own children to school/bus stop.
What is the maximum number of children you will look after at once?
The Alberta law for home child care is a maximum of 6 children (plus my own children who are school age).
What is the age group in your day home? Do you have any openings?
The age group I care for are children between the ages of 1 - 4 years. For available opening please contact me .
Do you schedule field trips?
At this time I don't schedule field trips but may do so in the future. We do take walks around the neighbourhood or go across the street to the playground sometimes though.
What is included in your fees?
Your fees pay for quality childcare, whole grain and organic (when possible) foods, weekly crafts, and a safe, fun, nurturing environment for your child. They pay for all supplies used in the daycare such as cleaning supplies, food, paper products, craft supplies, toys, lots of repairs and wear and tear, parties and special events, water, gas, electric, sewer and more. Your childcare fees provide my income including taxes and CPP to which I pay into.
What do I need to supply?
You will need to supply a complete change of clothes, diapers, wipes, diaper ointment, formula and baby foods, special blanket and/or stuffy for nap time if required, and possibly a pack n play for napping.
Why should I choose a day home over a centre?
A day home offers the comforts of home as well as a smaller group of children for more quality one on one time. Flexibility in schedules, exposure to fewer illnesses and lower cost of care are also benefits of a home-based child care.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes, a contract protects both you and I from any misunderstandings. To view my complete contract and policy handbook, please contact me .
